small businesses are the american dream
Often times, I get people that are curious to know about running your own business. It always takes me by surprise because I'm kind of in shock that I do in fact run my own business. Ha!
I didn't have anyone that taught me about creating my business. I didn't go to school to learn about business. Everything I learned, I taught myself. I sought out information, I started from the very bottom.
There were ups and downs and hard lessons to be learned. I've built what I've got on pure blood, sweat, tears (so many freakin' tears), hard work, *STUBBORNESS*, sleepless nights, and grit. There were so many times I was ready to throw my hands up and quit, but I prayed about it, had a little snack, and took a nap (that's Biblical, ya know) and I woke up with a renewed spirit ready to go at it again. I've also had some great cheerleaders along the way.
If you can support a small business this Holiday Season (or any time), please do it. You're providing for someone's family by doing that. Did you know that over half the money you spend with a small business stays right within your own community? I can attest to it!
If you can't purchase from a local small business, there's still ways you can help us out and show us some support.
Here's how:
-It sounds so simple, but liking, sharing, saving, and commenting on our posts goes a LONG way. It shows the algorithm that you and others want to see our posts and content.
- Pray for us, seriously.
- Book/buy from us when you can. I know it's not always possible, but choosing us when you can is crucial to our businesses surviving!
- Tell your friends about us, recommend us to community members. Tag us on social media!
- Leave a Google review! It's free, takes a few seconds, and has a HUGE impact! I mean HUGE.
-Give us a shoutout on socials or even post a pic/selfie with us! I love to take selfies with clients and see them shared! It's so much fun!
- Send a word of encouragement! It can be a hard (sometimes lonely) road and a friendly note/message helps a lot.
I love my community. The support they show me is so beautiful and I will forever be thankful for my clients. They are the ones that make it possible for me to chase my American Dream.
