Hi, it's me, Jess. I'm a family photographer in Chesapeake, Va.

serving all of Hampton Roads and beyond.

I've always had a camera in my hand, for as long as I could remember. I am from the Deep South, carrying on the long held tradition of storytelling, just with a modern twist.
I'm a sentimental soul and if you've found your way to my corner of the interwebs, then I reckon you may be too.
I am just a mama who desperately wants to hold on a little longer, a little tighter. And I want to make photographs for you the same way I do for myself.

Fact 1


I am a wife, mama of 3 wildlings (I freaking love being a mom), and 2 fur babies. I'm originally from Georgia, but spent some time growing up in (God bless) Texas too.

Fact 2


My first camera was a hot pink Barbie camera around age 6. My parents always supported me carrying a camera around everywhere and paid for endless rolls of film for me.

Outside of photography I love to read, be outdoors, garden, bake, roller skate, and visit theme parks!

Although I don't watch much TV these days, I love having music playing. You can find me crooning with the Avett Brothers or swaying to Stevie Nicks!

i've been told that my superpower is my ability to talk to anyone.

I tell people to think of it like I'm an old friend they haven't seen in a decade coming to visit. I think I'm adorably awkward and I think that helps folks feel at ease. Let's be weird together. Ha!!

It's the easiest family photo session you'll ever have.

I promise! Even self-proclaimed photo-haters have said that they don't mind having sessions done with me. I'm not asking you to do anything. No posing, no saying cheese, just do your daily thing, I'll take care of the rest.

i shoot from a mother's perspective.

I've got 3 kids and they aren't so little anymore. I know what it feels like to want to hold on longer and tighter. And that is what fuels me in my sessions.

We just had our second session with Jess. We had so much fun during our shoot. I honestly didn't even notice her taking any photos. I don't know how she managed to have so many of them. They truly documented the whole evening on the beach. We love every single of them!
