this is a revolution.
#RealSummerRevolution
We're bringing back the 90's in the best possible way. We're freakin' taking back our summer!
Remember when summer smelled like Coppertone 45 (if your parents remembered to put it on you)?
When summer meant sticky hands from melting popsicles and being barefoot on scorching hot pavement?
Remember when we played until the streetlights came on and boredom was the Mother of all Invention?
Before screen time was scheduled and we had SPF 4,000?
Summer used to be simple. It sounded like slamming screen doors and the distant melody of an ice cream truck. It looked like scraped knees, water balloon fights, and wearing the same bathing suit for a week straight.

We need a 90's summer now more than ever.
When we were kids, the summer was an endless abyss of wide-open freedom. We made up games with neighborhood kids, we had Sandlot style baseball games, we lived off of hotdogs and watermelon, we were bored. I want this kind of summer back!
They say we're lucky if we get 16 summers with our kids. That quote has been bouncing around in my head lately and it's something I haven't been able to shake.
SIXTEEN.
Those last few summers are probably filled with summer jobs, driver's ed, college visits, and part time independence. I'm looking at my own kids...one is FOURTEEN. I can feel it. Like the proverbial elephant in the room. The window is closing.
And this summer?
IT FREAKIN' MATTERS.

I'm not just talking to moms with toddlers.
Ooooooh no. I'm talking to the moms of TEENS, TWEENS, and BIG KIDS too.
This is for families who want to slow down a little bit. Say no to the grind, the hustle and bustle. This is for those who want to embrace an analog summer, even if it's just for a little while.
This is for families who want to say yes to something real and nostalgic.
Maybe your kids still climb into your lap. Maybe they roll their eyes when you try to hug them. Either way, summer is still sacred.
This isn't about a curated summer. This is about reclaiming something that feels a little wild, a little unstructured, and a little magical.

It's not just nostalgia. It's resistance.
We're raising our kids in a world that never stops buzzing. Algorithms, 100's of 1 minute or less videos consumed in a day, schedules, pressure, and comparison- it's all louder than ever.
But you know what?
There's power in choosing something quieter. More organic. More honest.
And that's what the 90's summer was.
That's what I want for my family. For your family.

This summer, I'm inviting you to join me.
Let's start a movement.
Let's bring back the 90's summer.
Let's go outside.
Let's let our kids be bored. Make up rules for kickball. Wear wet bathing suits all day. Eat popsicles that stain everything.
Let's say yes to memory making and no to the Pinterest version of perfect.
And hey, if you want to document it all in a real, anti-generic, honest way-- I'll be right here with my camera gear ready to go, along with sidewalk chalk and a baseball hat.
Because these are the summers our kids will remember. And they deserve to be remembered well.
P.S. Want to make this summer the best one yet?
