Why am I a photographer (you can click my About Me section if you want to read more!)? I've always been deeply sentimental. Have you ever been somewhere and it just felt like home? It felt so familiar, so comfortable...it felt like you belonged? Maybe it felt like you've always been there, even if you have just arrived? I love that feeling. I love the nostalgic feeling of home. That's not to say that I don't value adventure and travel, because I do. My husband and I have big dreams for our family in terms of travel. Home doesn't necessarily have to be a place, but it's who you're spending your days with that make it valuable. That's what inspires me. Well, that and gorgeous light. I can remember from a young age looking at things and thinking what a beautiful picture it would make. I remember my first camera, a little Barbie one, I filled the roll of film with things that were important to me. My lovies, my family, my dog, my friends. I didn't know it then, but I realize it now, I felt the need to preserve them in some way- the way I saw them.
I want to preserve those memories for others. One of my favorite things to photograph is details. I feel like the details get lost along the way...they get fuzzy, a little hazy. I want you to remember how something felt, not just how it looked. So, why am I a photographer? I am a creative. My brain doesn't function in a linear fashion. I thrive with a creative outlet. But more than anything, I am a memory catcher. I am a light seeker. I am my family's historian. I am sentimental and find beauty in the everyday. I want to shoot for you the way I shoot for myself. I want your pictures to feel like home. I want them to tug at your heartstrings and resonate in your soul. I am a storyteller.
