When I do in-home sessions, I always leave a little room for some loosely posed portraits, especially for a maternity session! When I saw this light in my client's home, I absolutely had to have it. I knew I needed mama right there in that light, bare belly. Isn't it just lovely? This veteran mama of 3, who is 38 weeks pregnant with baby number 4, welcomed me into her home with open arms. They let me squeeze into and assimilate into their daily life and routine without a second thought- and that's just how I like it! I was there for morning routines and snack time (and then another snack time), as well as outdoor playtime before their rest time. I hope mama had time to snag a quick nap, but we all know how that usually goes. But now the waiting period begins, where we patiently, or not so patiently, wait for baby girl's arrival. I remember in my own pregnancies, these last few weeks were such a strange time. I was torn between wanting them here in my arms and wanting them to stay safely tucked away inside my body. As we talked about her pregnancy, I asked what was she most looking forward to about baby's arrival and without hesitation, in true mama style, she said, "I want to see my oldest be a helper this time around. And I want to see my middle two in their big sibling roles." That just makes me happy and warm, I can't wait to see them all together in a few weeks.
