This session was very special to me because this family is dear to me. You'll never find better people in this world than these folks right here. In the past, I've talked about my grandparents and how influential they were in my life (you can read a blog post about them here). One of the things I talk a lot about is their house and their enormous 1 acre "garden". I use the quotation marks because I really feel like garden is an inadequate term...to 6 year old me, it was a never ending wonderland- it was as big as the world. I've mentioned that as an adult, I wish I had a picture of me and my grandpa in the garden together. What I wouldn't give for a photo of us! So, when the opportunity presented itself at this session, my heart literally leapt in my chest. I couldn't believe that I was getting the chance to photograph this memory for this little girl. I hope that she will look back on this photo with the fondness that I would if I had it of myself. I hope I captured the feelings of being out there in the garden with their grandpa and his garden. I also watched along as they made homemade mickey-shaped strawberry pancakes for breakfast and did the usual morning things. But if you ask me, the everyday is so, so beautiful. This is the good stuff. To schedule your own Storytelling Session with me, use the Contact tab above or simply just click here. I'd love to hear from you and what memories you want to preserve.
